Steinway & Sons Specific Expertise

Working closely with three high volume Steinway Factory showrooms for almost ten years taught me a lot about production and manufacturing, problem solving, and allowed me to keep a close eye on all the small differences that manifested through the years due to the company’s unification with Hamburg design. New York and Hamburg have been coming together for a long time, but the launch of Spirio in 2015 accelerated these changes. Beginning with belly mounted sostenuto which would eventually roll out to all standard pianos as well, and including aesthetic changes like round arms and wood finish inner rim as well as minor internal hardware differences.

I experienced working on all iterations of Spirio, and standard piano changes learning the specific intricacies of performing maintenance and factory level repairs when necessary.

Gaining experience in the field and in the restoration shop has taught me a lot about all older eras of Steinway & Sons history as well, from golden to teflon, there are details specific to each era I believe are important to consider for comprehensive service.
